Art Galore

Visual expression is a creative playground for every child to explore and venture. With the introduction to various themes coupled with the contemporary art approach, students will be exposed to a good array of skills, techniques and materials hence developing their cognitive and motor skills making interesting works of art. Connecting art with the other learning areas such as language, numeracy and science provide the platform for students to expand further into the world of innovation and holistic education extending the depth of visual arts and creativity.

Nurturing Innate Aesthetic Senses through Creative Experiences

We want to build confidence in creative expression in Kindergarten children, through the way in which they would be taught basic drawing, painting, clay and print making techniques in 2D and 3D. We aim to nurture a creative environment to inspire intrinsic motivation for creative art-making.

Teachers would function as facilitators to lead children on discovery learning based on Piaget’s theory on learning.

Cognitive Development

As children grow and develop, their art-making activities progress beyond exploring with their senses and begin to involve the use of symbols. By cultivating this, we are providing a foundation for children’s later use of expression to symbolise objects.

Creative Expression and Development

A pure expression from the heart by feelings (intrinsic motivation) and children can draw or paint the images they see or imagine and want to share with others.

Skills Development

Increasing eye and hand coordination through the manipulation of art media and tools.
Creating typically rudimentary forms and using limited linear symbols for objects, students move toward developing a rich and detailed term of shapes to express thoughts and ideas. Development of observation skills through exploration of their imagination is as highly valued as awareness of their immediate surroundings.
